On track for his fourth GNCC championship with five races left in the season, Brycen Neal kept a firm hold on his overall points lead at Round 8, the Parts Unlimited Mason-Dixon.
After a hard-fought race, Neal took third place by the narrowest of margins. His finish pushed his points total to 221; he’s appeared on the podium at every race of the season to date, including five times as the winner.
He gave an account of the race on Instagram: “The conditions this weekend was thickkk and heavy with mud! We jumped out to a great start this weekend but got hit from behind in the first corner and almost rolled it. Battled back all day long and lead some laps! But ultimately we finished a P3 on the day. it’s been a great weekend, feeling very proud and happy being a new dad and getting to go home to my girls safe! Onto the mountain next, let’s go.”
Neal’s CST Pulse tires handled the muddy Mason-Dixon course with ease, with excellent traction, precise steering and confident cornering. And Neal is sure to use them at the next GNCC race, the Yamaha Snowshoe at the Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, West Virginia.
Brycen Neal added to his overall GNCC points lead in Indiana when he took the win at GNCC Round 7, the Hoosier.
Neal gained the lead in the second lap and held it for the remainder of the race, eventually finishing 58 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. The victory increased his odds of a fourth GNCC XC1 Pro championship, upping his overall lead to 50 points for a total of 197 to date.
“We had a great day in Indiana jumping out to a solid start and was able to make our way to the front and hold it down all day! Big shouts to the team @phxracingatv for a great weekend, let’s keep it rolling!” Neal said on Instagram.
As he has throughout the past two seasons, Neal chose CST Pulse HT tires to take him to victory.
CST Tires/LMR Motors/Elka/Fly Racing’s Braxton Grosse did well in XC2 Pro Am, taking second place. The podium appearance was his fifth of the year and includes wins at Rounds 2 and 4, and Grosse holds second place in points for the class.
GNCC Round 6, the Mason-Dixon, is scheduled for May 30 – June 1 in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania.

Joel Hetrick is on track to achieve a milestone even beyond clinching his fifth ATV MX National Championship, as he did this past weekend at Briarcliff MX Park in Nashport, Ohio. With just one round left this year, he’s heading toward the first perfect season in the history of the series.
Riding CST’s Pulse MXR tires, the undefeated Hetrick added Round 9 to his tally by sweeping both motos at Briarcliff MX Park in Nashport, Ohio. With 425 points to his credit, his 75-point lead would be impossible to overcome. If he aces Round 10, scheduled for August 10-11 at Loretta Lynn’s, that perfect season is in his grasp.
Hetrick won’t have time to bask in his accomplishment once the season’s over, however. As a member of Team USA along with fellow CST athlete Bryce Ford, he’ll compete to bring home the gold in the Quadcross of Nations (QXON), scheduled for September 28-29 in the Czech Republic.
Ford is second in ATV MX points for the year, and Nick Gennusa, Ford and Jeffrey Rastrelli were fourth, fifth and sixth at Briarcliff.
CST is rooting for Joel Hetrick to take the first perfect season in ATV MX National Championship history and congratulates him on locking up his fifth series championship.

Neal’s Pulse HT tires have taken him to the top of the XC1 Pro podium at GNCC’s Big Buck, Wild Boar, The General, and just this past weekend, Camp Coker Bullet, giving him a 24-point lead in the rankings to date. Neal dominated Camp Coker Bullet from the start, taking the holeshot and then holding the lead through the finish line.
The Pulse HT is a known race-winner for athletes; featuring a proprietary soft compound, this tire was designed to perform even in the gnarliest conditions.
Riding Pulse MXR tires, Hetrick took first place at ATVMX Round 1 in Daytona, Florida, and racked up 23 points. Hetrick can count on Pulse MXRs for incredible traction, steering, cornering and durability, and the Pulse MXR’s two available rear compounds allow riders to be ready for hard or soft terrain.
GNCC’s next race, The Old Gray, is scheduled for April 13-14. Fans who can’t make the trip to Monterey, Tennessee, to see the race in person can still catch all the action online at RacerTV. ATVMX Round 2, Underground, is set for April 6-7 in Kemp, Texas.

Brycen Neal has done it again! Just like last year, he clinched his GNCC championship on CST’s Pulse HT tires. Neal locked down his title at the Kanati Tires GNCC Buckwheat 100, the next-to-last race on this year’s Progressive GNCC schedule.
A mechanical issue added some drama to his run: Neal made a pass and took the lead in the second lap until the problem sidelined him for several minutes. He and his team patched things up, and he went on to take 9th in XC1 Pro and 12th overall. His finish upped his year-to-date total to 266, giving him a 36-point lead and sealing his second straight championship.
“Mannnn what a day! Grabbed a great start and jumped into the lead on lap 1 and was able to get a gap and I was absolutely feeling awesome out there all day! Super bummed not to be able to finish that last lap ride in and bring home a win, we suffered a electrical problem but was able to scramble and get the bike back going again and make it to the finish to clinch the championship!! A BIG THANK YOU to all my sponsors and crew who keeps me going!” Neal said on Instagram.
Neal isn’t the only CST-sponsored athlete to win it all in a major series this year. Joel Hetrick took his fourth AMA Pro Racing AMT MX championship (his second on CST tires) this summer, and Beau Baron went into his final WORCS race this past weekend on track to take his next title.
CST is proud to be the tire of choice for ATV champions.

Riding CST’s Pulse HT tires, Brycen Neal won his first-ever GNCC Racing Overall ATV National Championship at the last race of the season, the Ironman. The event was held October 22 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Although the season’s points race ended in a tie (both Neal and another athlete had 325), Neal’s eight wins put him over the top to take the title. “What a year and a season it was for us, I’m so happy to bring this home for all of my family, friends & great sponsors who keep this program rolling!!” he said on Instagram.
The Pulse HT tires Neal rode throughout the season were literally made for competition: they were designed using the input of some of CST’s best athletes. Equipped with a proprietary soft compound, the Pulse HT performs in a wide range of terrains and conditions.
Neal’s GNCC championship is just the latest major win for a CST-sponsored athlete. Six-time WORCS champion Beau Baron is on track to take a seventh championship with a 44-point lead, and in August, Joel Hetrick took his third ATV MX Pro-class Championship riding CST’s Pulse MXR tires.

I can’t be more happy with how the weekend went and I am so thankful that my family was able to travel with me to see it happen,” he said on Instagram. CST’s Jeffrey Rastrelli also did well at Three Palms, taking fifth place. Hetrick now holds a 13-point lead in the chase for the championship, with 75 points to date, and Rastrelli is fourth overall.
WORCS Round 5 is scheduled for April 29 – May 1 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and ATV MX Round 3 will be held April 16-17 at Aonia Pass in Washington, Georgia.

If ATV athletes have a lucky course, then Big Buck Farm is that track for Brycen Neal (Magna Motorsports). After winning the 2022 GNCC kick-off at the Union, South Carolina site, Neal returned to take his second victory of the season there at Round 4, the Tiger Run.
Riding CST Pulse HT tires just as he did for his February win, Neal spent the second lap of the Tiger Run trading the front spot with another rider. He then took the lead for good, increasing his margin to nearly 12 seconds by the finish line. With two podiums in addition to his victories, Neal is a strong second in points, just four away from first place. His results are all the more impressive in light of the knee injury he suffered last year, which required surgery and kept him out of action for eight months.
“Pumped to bring home the W this weekend at the Tiger Run @gncc_racing can’t thank all the people in my corner enough for the continued support week in and out! Ready for more racing!” Neal said on Instagram.
GNCC Round 5, Camp Coker Bullet, is set for April 9-10 in Society Hill, South Carolina.

Joel Hetrick showed the competition how it’s done at the ATV MX National Championship season opener, winning the overall at the iconic Daytona International Speedway. CST Tires’ Jeffrey Rastrelli joined him on the podium in third place.
Both athletes rode CST Pulse MXR tires to the ATV MX podium. “I am so happy with my performance today and my team as well,” Hetrick said on Instagram. “@phxracingatv had my quad dialed in all day long despite the conditions. Grabbing the fastest qualifier, a heat race win and the main event win felt amazing! The emotions were real today after the main event. I’ve had some bad runs at Daytona, but today, I felt different. All of the training and riding @deckertrainingfacility was such a huge help for this race. Had a great battle most of the race until I was able to make it to the lead and bring home the win! Things don’t always go as planned, but I told myself going into this race I was going to win, and I did just that. Such a crazy start to the 2022 race season, but I am thankful to come out of this race healthy and on top. Time to go back to work for Round 2!!”
Rastrelli was also thrilled with his WORCS Daytona results. “Stoked to leave @daytona on the box! The track was very hard to pass on and rough. I struggled a bit halfway through the main event but started to turn it around at the end. We have some things to work on, but I am happy to leave with a podium. Back to work and onto Texas! Thank you so much to everyone that came to support me yesterday! It was amazing to see how many people came to support me from friends to family.. thank you!” he said on Instagram.
Hetrick’s win is the latest in a string of victories for CST athletes, who topped three podiums at WORCS Round 3. Chris Johnson took a victory in SxS, winning the Pro Stock class, while Beau Baron won the Pro race and later made another trip to the top of the podium when he took first place in SxS Pro Production. Ryan Piplic did well in the Mint 400, taking sixth place in UTV Pro Turbo.
ATV MX Round 2 is scheduled for April 2-3 at Three Palms Action Sport Park in Conroe, Texas.

As racing schedules return to something resembling normal in 2022, CST Tires’ Beau Baron and Brycen Neal continue to barrel past the competition to deliver outstanding results. Baron took his third straight overall victory by winning both motos at WORCS Round 3, held March 4-6 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The same weekend, Magna1 Motorsports’ Brycen Neal was a close second at GNCC Moose Racing Wild Boar in Palatka, Florida.
“Two wins in one weekend!” Baron said on Instagram. “It’s hard to beat, and they don’t come easy! #ProATV @worcsracing put on great racing as always. Huge thanks to all of my sponsors that make it all possible!”
After starting in fifth place, Neal worked his way to second by the second lap in at GNCC Wild Boar. He stayed close to the rider in front for the rest of the race, finishing less than a second behind to take the second-place spot on the podium. “Brought home a P2 on the weekend down here in Florida!” he commented on Instagram. “I’m pumped on the finish for riding in OH all winter long, the heat was tough on me yesterday but we battled for the lead all day down to the finish! Next up GA, let’s get it!”
Brandy Richards has won every WORCS Women’s Pro motorcycle race since the 2017 season, including this season’s first two rounds at Primm and Glen Helen. Fans are excited to see her win again at WORCS’ next moto round, scheduled for March 11-13 in Lake Havasu City.
WORCS’ next ATV/SxS round will be held April 1-3 in Taft, California, and GNCC Round 3, The Specialized General, is scheduled for March 11-13 in Washington, Georgia.

After a devastating knee injury kept him away from racing for more than eight months, Brycen Neal’s return to the GNCC alone would have been reason to celebrate. But in a scenario straight out of a movie, Neal took the victory at that first race, winning the VP Racing Fuels Big Buck GNCC Round 1 in Union South Carolina.
Fifth away from the starting line, Neal worked his way to third by the third lap, with only .4 seconds separating him from the front runners. Riding neck-and-neck with the other riders for most of the final lap, Neal gained an advantage in the final corners to take the win.
Neal’s injury at a GNCC race in May 2021 required surgery the following month to repair his ACL and meniscus, and his Instagram post after the race reflected his joy at getting back to competition. “Words can barely describe this one. After eight and a half months off of racing, I’m so pumped to grab the win at my first GNCC race back! It’s been such a long grind to get back to this point to compete. But I’m excited for the weeks ahead to get back to work and improve,” he said. “After not racing for that long I made some silly mistakes and I’m still not where I want to be, but I’m just so dang happy to be racing again! I appreciate the love and support of everyone. It was so great to see everybody at the races again! Onto the next one.”
He was almost as thrilled with his CST tires. “Couldn’t have done it today without my Pulse HTs!” said Neal. The Pulse HT was designed with input from CST’s athletes and is versatile enough to hook up in almost any terrain.
The next GNCC Presented by Specialized race, the Moose Racing Wild Boar, is scheduled for March 5-6 in Palatka, Florida.

After years of Covid-related delays, Dutch team Bas Auto Sport took their long-awaited championship.
Despite having two cars at the start and his trusted navigator Han van Goch at his side, Bas van Driel had a hard time during the first two stages of the Baja Borger 2021.
However, all the setbacks the team suffered were offset during the night stage, when the reliability of the Bowler Bulldog proved itself again.
The team’s second car, manned by driver Steve Richards and navigator Paul Spierings, had a collision, but still made a short night of it, completing all stages. This second car also crossed the finish line.
Congratulations to team Bas Auto Sport with Bas van Driel and Han van Goch for achieving not only first place in the Baja Borger in their own classes but also in the general classification, while simultaneously winning the Dutch championship as well.
As its official partner, CST has been supplying its all-terrain tires SAHARA A/T II to the new national champions in the Netherlands.
With enthusiastic support from CST, Bas Auto Sport will soon be ready for their next adventure.

In their entire careers, racers rarely enjoy a weekend like the one Ryan Piplic just had, clinching championships in two major series over the course of just a few days. Piplic won the UTV Pro Turbo classes for 2021 in both Best in the Desert and the Legacy Racing Association series.
At the final Best in the Desert race of the season, the Cal City Desert Challenge, Piplic sealed his lock on the title by taking third place for the race, with a third place on Day 1 and first place on Day 2. He made other trips to the Best in the Desert podium during the season as well, taking a victory in the UTV Legends Championship and second place in the Silver State 300. Throughout the year, Piplic trusted CST’s Apache tires to deliver championship-winning performance. “The CST Apache is the best tire out there to give you everything you need to make it to the finish with zero issues,” he said after the Silver State 300.
Piplic earned 586 points in the Legacy series, eight more than the next rider. Both Legacy and Best in the Desert’s final races were scheduled for the same weekend, so racer Larry Heidler ran the Legacy race in Piplic’s place, clinching his title.
“We’re so proud of Ryan, and we’re thrilled that he chose our tires to race to achieve these amazing results, said Rick Emmert, sales manager for CST’s Specialty Tire Division.

With wins in both motos, Joel Hetrick took his third overall victory of the year at Round 4 of the AMA Pro Racing ATV MX National Championship. Aonia Pass MX was held May 29-30 in Washington, Georgia.
The victory earned Hetrick, who leads AMA Pro standings for the series, 50 points toward his 156-point total.
Hetrick trusted CST’s Pulse MXR tires to take him across the finish line at Aonia Pass. Featuring great traction in the front for better steering, cornering and sliding, and rear compounds for hard or soft terrain, Pulse MXRs prove their worth at race after race.
ATV MX Round 5, Sunset Ridge, is scheduled for June 19-20 in Walnut, Illinois.

Ryan Piplic earned second place in Best in the Desert’s brutal Jimco Racing Silver State 300, held April 29 – May 2 near Alamo, Nevada.
Piplic finished the UTV Turbo race in 5:13:43.028, riding CST Apache tires. Designed for the rigors of desert racing, the Apache provides solid grip and cornering through berms and handles high speeds and desert conditions while resisting punctures.
“The BITD Silver State 300 in my opinion is the most fun race of the year, and every racer looks forward to this event,” said Piplic. “The course has everything to offer when it comes to an all-around course from high-speed flats to tight mountain trails to rocky washes and silty trails. The CST Apache is the best tire out there to give you everything you need to make it to the finish with zero issues. This year’s BITD SS300 I had zero issues from start to finish. I landed on the podium with the same 4 Apache tires I started on.”
No stranger to racing podiums, Piplic is a three-time WORCS champion and won the UTV World Championship in 2020. CST wishes him the best in his upcoming races.

Brycen Neal racked up his third win of the season at GNCC Round 6, the Hoosier, held May 1 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Neal (Bneal Motorsports/CST Tires/Houser Racing) moved steadily forward from the middle to take the lead in the third lap. He held the front spot through the rest of the race. His Pulse front and Pulse HT rear tires carried him across the finish line with a 39-second margin of victory. Even though mechanical problems caused him to finish just outside the top ten in the season’s second and fourth races, Neal currently holds third place in XC1 Pro standings.
In other good news for CST, six-time champion Beau Baron leads WORCS’ Pro ATV standings after winning his third race of the season, ATV/SXS Round 4, held April 9-11 in Taft, California. After starting in second place, he gained the lead on the second lap and never let it go.
Brandy Richards remains undefeated for the season in WORCS Women Pro, taking her latest victory despite a crash which injured her wrist during the race. Again, proving that it takes more than an injury to keep her down, she went on to take second place in Pro Am the following day. WORCS motorcycle Round 6 was held April 16-18 in Taft, California.
GNCC Round 7, the John Penton, is scheduled for May 22-23 in Millfield, Ohio. WORCS’ next ATV/SXS round is scheduled for June 4-6, and the next motorcycle round is scheduled for June 11-13, both in Preston, Idaho.

Overcoming a disastrous start, Brycen Neal took his CST Pulse and Pulse HT tires first across the XC1 Pro finish line at the GNCC opener, the VP Racing Fuels Big Buck in Union, South Carolina.
Neal worked steadily after his starting-line mishap, holding third place through most of Lap 1. Several passes into Lap 2, he gained the lead and held it for the remainder of the race, earning a five-point lead in Pro class rankings.
Both the Pulse and Pulse HT were ideal choices for the Bug Buck: The Pulse allows for confident steering with knobs that bite, and the Pulse HT hooks up in almost any terrain.
In other good news for CST, Brandy Richards won her second straight Women Pro race at Round 2 of WORCS, while Beau Baron followed up his victory at the season kick-off with a strong performance at Round 2. Baron took fourth place at the season’s second race, held in Peoria, Arizona.

In the world’s most difficult race, choosing the right tire is crucial. Polaris France CST made the right choice when the team ran the entire 4,751 miles (7,646 kilometers) of the brutal Dakar Rally on CST Apache tires.
Polaris France CST’s Extreme+ team rode their new RZR Pro XP machine outfitted with CST Apaches through all of the rally’s 12 stages, completing the two-week race in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Along the way, they contended with dunes, rock-strewn terrain, boulders, and myriad other obstacles, including arduous sections of track.
“Driving all day at fast speeds in the middle of the stones [gave us a lot of stress]. Fortunately, with CST Apaches, we could forget this stress and concentrate only on the driving. We could start the stage at good pressure and keep it all day long, even with sand or stones. The CST Apache is so strong that you can hit stone at low pressure and no puncture. This is really a big difference,” said Liam Griffin, a driver on one of six Polaris Extreme+ teams competing in the rally. Team drivers and their overall rankings at the finish are listed below.
T4 Category – Overall Classification:
20th Liam Griffin – Stephane Duple
26th Jeremie Warnia – Steven Griener
27th Ferdinando Brachetti – Rafael Tornabell
28th Graham Knight – David Watson
Dakar Experience – Sebastian Guayasamin – Ricardo Torlaschi

Ryan Piplic rode CST Apache tires to victory in the world’s premier UTV event, the UTV World Championship. Piplic finished the Desert Pro Turbo race in 4:12:00:881. The UTV World Championship, which started and finished in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, was held October 7-11.
“To come away with a win on the most brutal course of the year is amazing accomplishment in itself! But to win the UTV World Championship race and not have one flat and zero issues with my CST Apaches is a true testament to how great these tires are,” said Piplic. Made for desert racing, the Apache’s steel-belted 8-ply-rated radial design flexes to resist punctures while delivering outstanding cornering in berms and great performance at high speeds.
Also taking CST tires to the podium was Beau Baron, who took third place in the Short Course Turbo race on the Behemoth.
Anne Tauber will spend the run-up to the 2021 Olympics riding with her CST PostNL Bafang MTB Racing teammates. Tauber, who has ridden with the team since 2018, has signed for an additional two years, through 2021-2022. She was the first mountain biker to qualify for next year’s Dutch Olympic team, clinching her spot at last year’s UCI XCO World Cup in Albstadt, Germany.
CST PostNL Bafang director Bart Brentjens is pleased that she’s staying with the team: “Our team’s sportive ambition is still to win a medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021…The Olympic Games 2024 in Paris are still a long way off, but also in both our view and intention to work towards together. As we look back, Anne made and is still making enormous progression as a professional mountain biker. With her mentality, she has the capacity to [be one of] the best mountain bikers of the world…Anne is a very positive spirit. Anne knows how to focus and to set goals. She has character and is able to deal with all kinds of circumstances. We are happy to follow our Olympic road together,” said Brentjens.
Tauber is just as pleased to extend her time with CST PostNL Bafang. “The team has offered me everything I could ask for, and we have been working together in a great atmosphere; it really feels like a family to me,” she said. “The results of the past two years have proven that the cooperation between us is successful…Even though the current circumstances concerning Covid-19 are difficult, we can move forward and focus on what is important to us: making progress! And of course, our ultimate goal is set in Tokyo in 2021!”

This year’s grueling Ultra Bike Marathon in Szklarska Poręba, Poland featured nearly 100 km. of riding at an elevation of almost 3500 m. Beautiful mountain scenery, a strong starting line-up and a well-organized race, despite the current restrictions, all favored a spirited competition. The CST 7R team picked up the gauntlet and started the race last Saturday shortly after 9:00. After more than five hours of all-out cycling, Karol Rożek crossed the finish line first, almost a minute ahead of Wojciech Halejak and Mariusz Kozak from the JBG-2 Cryospace team.
“The season has finally begun! The race in Szklarska Poręba is an extremely demanding route, a long distance and fast-paced from the very start. After almost nine months’ break from racing, this year’s bike marathon was the first opportunity for me to check my physical shape, which makes me more than pleased with my first place. I would like to thank the guys from JBG2 for the fierce competition. Also, many thanks to the event organizers for their great management of the race,” said Rożek.
Despite some problems on the route, Michał Kucewicz also achieved a good result, completing the GIGA distance. Kucewicz took tenth place in the open classification and third in his age category.
“As for the beginning of the season, I must admit that it was tough in Szklarska. The route was very demanding, with not only many hard uphills, but also technical downhills, which gave me a hard time. The Giants’ Bicycle Range [Pasmo Rowerowe Olbrzymy] is a great option. I didn’t think I would like these singletracks so much. I had several problems on the route. Fortunately, nothing happened to me and the bike. Congratulations to Karol, who won on Saturday. I’m not surprised at all,” said Kucewicz.
Michał Ficek finished the marathon in 12th place in open classification and 8th in the elite category. Although he had hoped for a better outcome, he remains optimistic and determined.
“Regarding the positives of my cycling: I crossed the finish line in one piece and somehow finished in eighth place in the elite. I am still tired after last weekend, my legs are not strong enough, [and my] stomach [is] upset, but there is no point in getting into details. The most important matters: it is great to go to the race in a positive atmosphere, not worry about the service and buffet, and if you are in need, you can even borrow a bike. It is great to be part of the CST 7R MTB Team! Now, it is time to start training to be better prepared for the next races,” said Ficek.
Team member Oliwier Machura did well in the M1 category, taking fifth place.
After winning their season’s first competition, the members of CST 7R are focused on training and are optimistic about their upcoming races.

In the midst of a market made more challenging by the Covid-19 crisis, CST is taking steps to retain a competitive advantage. The company is introducing its Marquis MR61 tire to Japan through Autobacs Seven, the top auto parts retailer in the country.
The Marquis MR61 joins CST’s Medallion MD-A1 and Sahara CS900 in Autobacs Seven’s product mix. With three tires offered by the retail giant, CST has reached a milestone in the Japanese market: Autobacs Seven has considerable reach, with around 600 franchise and direct-sale shops in Japan, as well as stores in overseas markets including China, France, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and Malaysia.
“By supplying products with reliable quality along with excellent service to customers, CST has created a brand that is known and valued in many different markets. We firmly believe the launch of the Marquis MR61 will be as successful as the Medallion MD-A1 and Sahara CS900,” said Bruce Lin of CST’s international auto tire sales division.

Ryan Piplic rode CST’s Apache tires to third place at Best in the Desert’s King Shocks Laughlin Desert Classic. Piplic raced the Pro Turbo class at the nighttime race, held February 20 in Laughlin, Nevada.
Piplic, who finished the grueling course in 2:29:16.677, was pleased with the Apache’s performance. “I made the switch to CST this year, and we found the new Apache tire was going to be the ultimate tire for Best in the Desert racing,” he said. “The amount of traction and resistance to punctures is next level. We started and finished on the same four 30-inch Apaches, and not one problem. After the race they still look like new and ready to go for the next race. Game changer!” Specifically designed to tackle the challenges of desert riding, the Apache features steel-belted 8-ply rated radial construction and excellent puncture-resistance, while delivering solid grip and steady cornering through berms.
CST’s Cory Sappington also did well, finishing 11th. Like Piplic, Sappington chose Apaches for the challenges of a desert night race.
Best in the Desert’s next race, the US Desert Scrambles Championship, is scheduled for March 20-22 in Laughlin, Nevada.

In order to improve the brand influence and popularity, but also show the confidence and determination of CST Motorcycle tires to enter the high-end market, CST this year held the first “CST CUP” Road Racing Challenge. We are committed to building this event into a popular motorcycle racing platform so that more motorcycle racers can experience the CST high-performance track tire series.
Hosted by Cheng Shin Rubber (Xiamen) Ind., Ltd. and undertaken by professional racing companies in the Chinese market, the competition started in Xi’an Lintong Circuit in June, started its second race in Shandong Taian Haoting Circuit in July, and ended successfully in Guizhou Junchi International Circuit in October.
The three-stop event has attracted the active participation of CST motorcycle tire dealers from all over the country and has also attracted the attention of numerous media in the motorcycle industry in China.
During the event, three new motorcycle tire products were released simultaneously by CST: Semi-Hot Melt Sport Touring Tire CM-S1 for medium and large emission sports vehicles, Multi-Purpose Adventure Tire CM-A1 for adventure vehicles, and Full-Hot Melt Race Tire CM-SR10 for racing. These three products are newly launched by CST in response to the increasingly mature domestic market for large-emission motorcycles, aiming at different service environments, providing clients and consumers with more product choices.
The final event in October was divided into four motorcycle groups: Aprilia GPR150 Unified Group, Chunfeng 250NK Unified Group, Kawasaki Ninja250 Unified Group and Open 250 Group. More than 50 drivers from all over the country gathered here because of their common hobbies and goals to meet friends and compete in the race. In the course of the race, according to the change of weather environment, the contest vehicles were equipped with CST new SR10 Full-Hot Melt Race Tire and SR01 series rain tires.

Thomas Brown rode his CST tires to the top of the podium at ATVMX Underground. The series’ second round was held April 6 in Kemp, Texas.
The Tbrown 84 Training/CST Tires rider started strong, taking the holeshot in the first moto. Hindered briefly, he rebounded and ultimately took second place in Moto 1. In Moto 2, he gained the lead shortly after the start and held it through the rest of race, winning the moto and the overall. Brown is now second in points standings, just three points behind the leader.
The next round of the ATVMX National Championship, the Ironman, is scheduled for April 27-28 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Two years ago, the term “gravel bike” had barely come into use; now, there’s nary a shop that hasn’t encountered – and even embraced – the category. Word of this “new” sport is spreading quickly among cyclists – from those whose friends are inviting them to their first gravel grinders, to those who are drawn to the appeal of a car-free riding experience that’s not hard-core mountain biking.
To go along with the explosion in gravel bikes, one of the fastest growing segments in bicycle sales currently, CST Tires has developed three gravel-worthy new products, the Detour, Convoy, Tirent tires, all of which were introduced at Interbike 2018 last month in Reno. These models join the CST Pika, a longstanding favorite. Read on for descriptions and availability information:
The CST Pika tire is a dirt road tire that’s built for the changing terrain of a weekend gravel tour, or even a commute. It features ramped center knobs and U-shaped shoulder knobs, the combination of which allow for fast, smooth forward riding and confidence and traction when turning. Available in 700×38 with a wire bead, the CST Pika is equipped with dual compound tread. It features CST’s Exceptional Puncture Safety (EPS) technology, which is a layer of poly-fiber material between the tread and casing that prevents objects from penetrating the casing to puncture the tube.
The newly launched CST Tirent is a 700x40c dirt and gravel tire designed in the most popular width for gravel riding. Based on CST’s B-Fast mountain bike tire and also equipped with dual compound tread, the Tirent is a performance-minded tire with a tread pattern that offers low rolling resistance for enhanced speed. Its shoulder knobs are spaced apart more widely for traction. The Tirent has a wire bead and it also features CST’s EPS technology.
Coming to market in early 2019, the brand new CST Detour tire is great for hard-packed dirt roads and pathways. It’s a fast-rolling, high-volume and lightweight tire that’s a perfect complement to a commuter or gravel bicycle. A reflective sidewall stripe helps make the rider more visible and ensures greater safety in low light conditions. The Detour, offered in 700x38c sizing, also features wire bead and dual compound tread. The tread pattern is great for traction in wet conditions, whether riding on dirt, grass, or pavement.
Finally, the CST Convoy tire rounds out the 2019 offerings from CST. The Convoy is a tire that’s engineered for the new generation of versatile all-road and gravel bikes and it has optimized tread across three different widths: 32, 38, and 50c. The tread pattern has evenly spaced knobs for a consistent and connected feel in a range of conditions from “kitty litter” gravel to chunky stone. As with its gravel siblings, the Convoy tire features a wire bead and CST’s EPS technology.
CST Tires are available from all major bike shop distributors. The Detour, Convoy, Pika and Tirent are a low-cost and high-impact tire solution for your gravel-riding customers.
Mitch Anderson clinched WORCS’ Pro 2 championship with a third-place race finish at Round 9, the final race of the season, and easily won the Open A title as well. Beau Baron took second place in the Pro ATV race as well as second place for the year, and won the SxS Pro Stock championship. WORCS’ Round 9 was held October 26-28 in Primm, Nevada.
Anderson took a spot on the podium at every Pro 2 WORCS race this year, and took a victory at Round 3. He racked up a total of 152 points in 2018.
In Open A, Anderson earned the championship by winning five of the six races in which he competed, including the season finale. He accumulated 141 points, 17 more than the second-place rider, by the season’s end, and also took second place overall in 450 A. “My program wouldn’t be where it is without CST tires,” he said. “A lot of credit goes to CST for sticking with me this year.”
Baron finished the season just one point away from first place in Pro ATV standings. He took four wins and turned in three second-place finishes this year. “One point; that’s all it is,” he said. “I won more races than anyone else this year, but it didn’t work out in my favor. I’m definitely bummed, but we’ll work hard on next year.”
The news was much better for Baron in SxS Pro Stock. After six turns on the podium, including two victories, he took the class championship with a total of 180 points for the year, an eight-point margin over the next rider.

CST’s Thomas Brown and Maxxis’ Chad Wienen and Jeff Rastrelli won the gold at the Quadcross of European Nations (QXON), held September 22-23 in Slagelse, Denmark.
The three took their victory despite intense competition from teams fielded by 19 other nations. Brown initially established Team USA’s dominance with a victory in the first race of the opening day, with Rastrelli taking second place in the next race and Wienen winning the third and final race of the day. Day 2 was much the same, with Brown taking second place in one race, Rastrelli taking second in the other two, and Wienen sealing the team’s overall win with victories in two of the day’s races.
“It was the absolute consistency and team riding that won the gold medals for Team USA, which was thoroughly deserved. It was a remarkable team effort and an example to other nations on how to compete as a team,” noted FIM-europe.com, which covered both days of the competition.
Brown is no stranger to the QXON podium, having also helped Team USA win gold in 2017, the first year the country entered the competition. CST congratulates Thomas Brown and the other riders of Team USA on winning the 2018 Quadcross of European Nations.

The summer riding season is well under way, particularly for road riders who are taking advantage of the warm weather and long days to commute by bicycle, join evening group rides, and plan longer weekend bike trips. With the added mileage comes incremental wear and tear on the bike, particularly its tires. Since tires are the only point of contact between the bicycle and the road, it’s important to inspect them often.
Depending on a tire’s makeup, the weight of the rider, and whether the tire is positioned on the front or rear wheel of the bike, the life expectancy of the average road tire is between 1,500 and 4,000 miles.
If a customer keeps buying tubes, or mentions that they’ve been getting “a lot of flats lately”, it’s a good sign that the tires are ripe for replacement. Signs of tire wear can be easily missed by the average rider, as they require a somewhat trained eye to notice: reduction in the depth of grooves in the tread (as compared to a new tire), signs of the tire “squaring off”, holes or punctures from past damage, and sidewall cracks.
Once you’ve identified terminal tire wear, it’s time to help the customer understand why it’s necessary to buy new tires. Fortunately with budget-friendly CST Tires, you can offer diverse options at prices starting under $20.
A great option for commuters and road touring riders is the CST Caldera, which is engineered to be both durable and resilient. This tire is available in 700c diameter and widths of 25mm and 28mm. Both of these widths are available in wire or foldable bead, with the primary difference between the two beads being the threads per inch (TPI), and the resulting road feel and weight of the tire.
For the Caldera wire bead tire, the TPI is a relatively low 27, and it weighs between 340 and 385 grams. The Caldera foldable bead, on the other hand, has a TPI of 60 and subsequently weighs less – between 270 and 335 grams, depending on diameter. Additionally, the Caldera foldable bead features CST’s Exceptional Puncture Safety (EPS) technology, making it even more impervious to road hazards. Either way, Caldera is a tire that’s up to the challenge of long miles on the streets of the city.
When your customer’s kit matches their bike and helmet, it’s a great idea to “match” them to the CST Czar tire, which comes in a rainbow’s array of red, orange yellow, green, blue, pink, grey, and white. Offered in diameters of both 650 (black/grey only) and 700c, with TPI choices of 27 or 60, the Czar is as smooth-riding as it is good-looking, making it an ideal tire for roadies putting in long training rides and commuters navigating the roads to and from work.
All eight colorways of the Czar road tire come in widths of 23 and 25mm, with wire or foldable bead. Overall, Czar is a lighter tire than Caldera, with the foldable bead option weighing 240 grams and the wire bead option weighing 285 – 315 grams.
Meanwhile, at 215 grams, the Recourse weighs in as one of CST’s lightest road tires, and its foldable bead version boasts a plush TPI of 120, as well as CST’s EPS technology to protect against flats. Available in widths of 25 and 28mm, Recourse is engineered for road riders who want a superior tire for training and racing.
CST Tires are available from all major bike shop distributors. The Caldera, Czar, and Recourse range in price from $17-$40 – making them a low-cost and high-impact upgrade to offer customers.
Thomas Brown is riding CST tires to a certified hot streak. Brown’s first ATVMX win of the year came shortly after news that he’ll ride for the US in this year’s Quadcross of European Nations (QXON).
At Saturday’s RedBud race, Round 9 of the ATVMX National Championship presented by CST Tires, Brown took third place in the first moto. However, as the next moto would show, he was just warming up. Despite a track made slick by heavy rain, Brown grabbed the lead in the moto’s first half and held it through the finish. The win gave the Tbrown84 Training/CST Tires rider his fourth trip to the podium so far this season; he’s currently third in points for the series.
Brown is one of three US riders who will defend Team USA’s QXON championship against world-class competition. QXON will feature a 25-minute moto during each day of the event. “I am super honored to be selected as a part of Team USA again. I am looking forward to heading across the big pond to defend our title in Denmark. We have a great team with Jeffrey [Rastrelli], Chad [Wienen] and myself. This should be an awesome race,” Brown said. QXON is scheduled for September 22-23 in Slagelse, Denmark.
To learn more about QXON, please visit http://slagelsemx.com/. The final round of the ATVMX season is scheduled for August 11 at Loretta Lynn’s in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. CST congratulates Thomas Brown on his Round 9 ATVMX overall win, and wishes Brown and his teammates the best as they compete against some of the world’s best riders and bring home QXON gold once again.

Quick thinking and a well-timed pass helped McGill Mafia/CST Tires/Moose Racing’s Adam McGill gain his first GNCC victory of the season. McGill won Round 4, FMF Steele Creek, held April 7 in Morganton, North Carolina.
After a fierce battle with another rider throughout the race, Layne McCormick won the Youth race. The win was also his third in a row for YXC1 Super Mini Sr. (13-15).
CST Camp Coker Bullet, Round 5 of the AMOIL GNCC series, is scheduled for April 21-22 in Society Hill, South Carolina. CST congratulates Adam McGill on his victory and thanks Brycen Neal for his fine performance.
Riding CST tires, Mitch Anderson dominated WORCS’ Pro 2 race to take his first-ever win in the series’ class. Round 4 was held March 23-25 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
After taking the lead early in the race, Anderson was unstoppable, correctly gauging the quickest route around the sandy, rocky, lakeside course and using the notoriously tricky Lagoon Jump to increase his advantage. “I took the first lap and figured out the lines early. From there I pushed hard, got the lead and just rode my own race. This is my first Pro 2 win in the WORCS series ever. I’m kind of speechless, but happy. A lot of work goes into this, and it’s good to see it paying off,” he told worcsracing.com. His win also vaulted Anderson into the class points lead.
Anderson praised his CST tires as instrumental to his victory. “The CST Tires worked great,” he said. “I ran the CST Desert to compensate for the sand and soft terrain. They worked phenomenal the whole race.”
WORCS Round 5 is scheduled for April 27-29 in Utah’s Sand Hollow State Park. CST congratulates Mitch Anderson on his resounding victory, and thanks him for choosing CST tires.

CST’s Beau Baron powered ahead of his competition to take the win at WORCS’ latest SXS Pro Stock race. Round 3 was held March 16 in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
“I got a second-place start behind Matt Hancock, and there was a rhythm section along the back straightaway,” Baron told worcsracing.com. “We came into that last one; he checked up, and I never lifted, so I launched half a car length in front of him and took off in the lead. [Randy] Romo started running me down, and he got close at the end.” But Baron held onto his lead and crossed the finish line in 41:20.101.
He was on track to take a double win for the weekend when he moved into the lead in the Pro ATV race. A mechanical failure sidelined him and prevented that victory, however.
With this win plus his previous results, which include a podium at Round 2, Baron leads the SXS Pro Stock class in series points to date. In WORCS racing he is currently third in points for SXS Pro, and fifth overall in Pro ATV. Three rounds into the District 37 Big 6 Grand Prix series, he’s undefeated in Quad Expert, leading the class in points.
WORCS’ next SXS race is scheduled for March 23 in Lake Havasu. CST congratulates Beau Baron on this victory and on taking the lead in the race for the SXS Pro championship.

WORCS’ next SXS race is scheduled for March 23 in Lake Havasu. CST congratulates Beau Baron on this victory and on taking the lead in the race for the SXS Pro championship.
With a victory in XC1 Pro, Brycen Neal attained a career first over the weekend. Neal topped the podium at AMSOIL GNCC Round 3, the Maxxis General, held March 17 in Washington, Georgia.
Neal, of Bneal Motorsports/CST Tires/Houser Racing, took the lead about a half-mile into the course. He didn’t drop behind for the rest of the race, even through the ultra-demanding Monster Mile, when he and Chris Borich were neck and neck. Despite a fierce challenge from Borich throughout the last lap, Neal held his lead and took his first-ever XC1 Pro GNCC win in a heart-stopping finish. After three rounds, he holds second place in points for the class.
Adam McGill had a difficult day but demonstrated grit and determination in finishing the race. Despite severe blisters on his hands which made steering next-to-impossible, he managed a top-ten finish, earning eighth place. McGill is currently fifth in XC1 points.

With a sponsorship roster that includes returning stars and newly signed champions, CST Tires continues to step up its game in the world of ATV and off-road motorcycle racing. The company has built on solid results from last season by recruiting a powerhouse line-up for 2018.
“We have a deep roster this year, and we know that all of these riders are fully capable of winning a championship on CST tires. We’re very confident about our prospects,” said Chris Meyer, marketing coordinator for CST Tires.
New riders include eight-time ATVMX champion Nick Gennusa, who will again contest that series’ Pro class, and Brycen Neal, who’s gunning for the GNCC Pro title after taking second overall last season. Michael Swift will ride for CST in GNCC’s 4×4 Pro, UTV Pro, and Ace classes, as well as competing in the Heartland Challenge. Swift’s GNCC competition in 4×4 Pro and UTV Pro will include fellow CST rider Kevin Trantham, who is also new to the company’s roster.
CST’s returning stars include nine-time WORCS champion Beau Baron, who will compete in WORCS Pro ATV and Pro SxS, as well as Quad Cross and the Big 6 series in 2018. Adam McGill, who rode CST to fifth place overall in GNCC’s Pro class and appeared on the podium seven times in 2017, will work to leave his competition in the dust in the GNCC, IXCR ATV Pro Overall, and WEXCR Pro Overall. No stranger to the ATVMX podium, Thomas Brown will compete in that series’ Pro class, plus Pont de Vaux and QXON.
Desert racer Cory Sappington will again compete in both Best in the Desert and the SCORE-International series. Like his new teammates Swift and Trantham, Dwight Pollard is scheduled to race in GNCC’s 4×4 Pro class. Pollard will also compete in the series’ XC3 SxS class, as well as the Heartland Challenge, Mid East, SORCS, and IXCR. Sean Bogdan will compete in GNCC UTV XC1 Pro, and Justin Wood will race the series’ 4×4 Senior A class.
Racing motorcycles for CST will be Mitch Anderson. Among Mitch’s accomplishments during the past year was a team victory at the John Burr 10 Hours of Glen Helen.
CST is proud to welcome all of its riders to its strongest ATV roster yet, and looks forward to cheering them on to victory throughout the year.
Overcoming some of the world’s most merciless terrain, riders from the CST-sponsored Xtreme Plus Polaris Factory Team took second, third, and fourth places at the 2018 Dakar Rally, held January 6-20. With each Polaris vehicle outfitted with CST’s Lobo RC tires, Polaris was the most successful manufacturer in the SxS class at this year’s brutal off-road endurance event.
These finishes are all the more remarkable in light of the fact that, as Nick DeGroot put it in a 2016 essay on Vice Sports, “The Dakar Rally is considered by many to be the most dangerous, most difficult, and most grueling race on the planet—and for good reason. It’s a vicious race that puts a whole new spin on the phrase ‘To finish first, you must first finish.’ We aren’t just talking about vehicles making it to the end, but people, too. Twenty-eight participants have perished since its inception and dozens more have narrowly escaped the same fate in pursuit of Dakar glory.”

France’s Patrice Garrouste and Switzerland’s Steven Griener earned their share of Dakar glory by taking second overall. Finishing in 73 hours, 41 minutes and 43 seconds, they won five stages of the Dakar Rally, beating the competition in Stages 4, 6, 10, 11, and 13.
Claude Fournier of France and Szymon Gospodarczyk of Poland took third place, with a total time of 82 hours, 53 minutes, and 31 seconds. Jose Luis Peña Campo and Rafael Tornabell Cordoba, both from Spain, earned fourth place, finishing in 82 hours, 57 minutes, and 26 seconds.
Team Director Marco Pianam: “We are happy with the result. It was a good balance for the Xtreme Plus Polaris Factory team. We had five total stage wins by Garrouste and one by Aliaga Anibal. What is exceptional is that in the first 30 cars’ overall classification, we can find four SXS: Garrouste in 25th, Fournier in 28th, and Peña 29th. The Dakar Rally requires technical ability, good machines, and strong drivers and co-drivers; this was more important than pure speed. We are sure that the category will get stronger and stronger and grow even bigger in the future.”
“For us, it is a pleasure to help drivers achieve their dreams. Peña had a lot of emotion, as it was his dream to finish a Dakar since he was a child. In the last stage, Fournier did a brilliant job of controlling the race and making no mistakes to maintain his position. He was the best performing Polaris driver with a non-turbo machine, which is a testament to his fantastic efforts.”
“We want to say a big thank you to Polaris, Motul and CST Tires that they trust in Xtreme Plus and in SxS. In 2019, we will come back stronger and get the awards back that Xtreme Plus has won since 2012.”
The course of this year’s race covered 12 cities and 5463.7 miles (8793 km) from Lima, Peru through Bolivia to Cordoba, Argentina. Riders sped through desert terrain and over dunes, rocks, mud, and other obstacles at various stages of the race, which annually receives TV coverage in over 190 countries, including on NBC Sports Network in the US.
CST thanks all of these riders for choosing its Lobo RC tires and congratulates them on achieving spectacular results in the Dakar Rally, one of off-road racing’s most demanding events.
CST’s outstanding new tire will be paired with an outstanding racer when Thomas Brown rides the CST Pulse MXR at the Daytona ATV Supercross round of the AMA ATVMX Championship Series presented by CST Tires. Brown is the first to race the CST Pulse MXR, a new tire in the company’s line-up. Based on CST’s popular Pulse racing tire, the CST Pulse MXR was developed specifically for the series.
He may not have raced it before, but Brown has every reason to feel confident in the CST Pulse MXR. With this tire’s added traction, he’ll be able to steer and corner with ease, and his choice of the two available rear compounds means he can handle Daytona’s terrain. Add the durability built into the CST Pulse MXR, and you have a tire that delivers surefooted, lasting performance.
Brown, who made the AMA top three from 2013-15, is aiming for the championship this season, and CST is excited to cheer him on as he rides the CST Pulse MXR in its racing debut.
Riding CST tires, Beau Baron left his competition in the dust at the latest round of WORCS, held February 17-19 in Taft, California.
Baron took an early lead and held it throughout the race, finishing in 01:14:34.965. “I just hung it out a little more on the first lap, and I got a gap. I knew it was going to be tough to see because I saw a little dust coming up, so I knew I had to get up front early. I ate dirt at the last couple of races, and I didn’t want that to happen here. I got out front and did what I could. Then Mike Sloan had a miracle lap, and he reeled right in on me before he had to pit. I’m really happy with today’s results,” he told worcsracing.com. The series’ defending seven-time champion, Baron is undefeated so far this season in WORCS’ Pro ATV class.
In yet another trip to the top of the podium during the weekend, he rode CST to victory in the SxS Pro Stock race, winning in 38:44.623. With 63 points so far this season, Baron is just one point away from an overall lead in the SxS Pro Stock.
CST congratulates Beau Baron on his latest victories.
Taft, CA (02/08/2017) – CST’s Beau Baron and Mitch Anderson dominated the second round of the 2017 Big 6 Grand Prix held at Honolulu Hills Raceway in Taft, CA. The Pro 2 defending champion, Baron, claimed his first win of the year followed by the 2017 points leader, Anderson.
Baron’s win in 250 Pro was just one of three first place finishes he scored over the weekend. Baron also won the Vet and the ATV class. “In Vet I got a second place start, ran down the leader and won. I felt really good, and made just a few suspension adjustments before the 250 Pro race,” stated Baron.
“I came out eighth place and worked my way towards the front of the pack. Just past the halfway point I passed Mitch for the lead on the motocross part of the track. Then I pulled a gap and just rode my own race to the finish,” explained Baron of his excellent performance in the Pro 2 class.
This was an exceptionally good weekend for Baron after a rough start to the season during the first round in Adelanto. “I am excited especially after coming off a seventh place finish last round. It boosted my confidence for sure.”
Mitch Anderson also had an impressive weekend, taking second in the Pro 2 class and first in the Expert class. “The track conditions were pretty nice. It has been cold with high chances of rain all year, so to have a somewhat warm and dry race was a nice change of pace. The track at Taft is always technical and difficult so you have to stay on your toes.” said Anderson.
Anderson put in a very strong ride in the Pro 2 class, taking second off the start and quickly moving into the lead, which he held for a majority of the race. “I had a hard time setting the pace in the lead. It was foreign territory for me this year, but now I got that out of the way and I should be good for the rest of the year,” explained Anderson.
With great finishes on the first two races of the season, Anderson now has the points lead heading into the third round. “It is always an advantage mentally knowing you are the one everyone is looking at, but it is a long series. I was in the lead early last year so I know what I have to do.” It may be early in the season, but signs point to Anderson being a top contender in this championship hunt.
Baron and Anderson will be competing next at the third round of the WORCS series February 17-19 at the same location, Honolulu Hills in Taft, CA. Watch for these CST Tires teammates to top the podium once again.
Atascadero, CA (1/8/2017) – CST Tires’ Beau Baron was right back on the top step of the podium as he won the season opening WORCS Pro ATV Race at Mesquite MX in Nevada. Riding his familiar CST Honda, the 2016 Pro ATV Champion ran a consistent pace early in the race before taking the lead for good.
The event was held at the Mesquite MX track that was expanded for this event. Along with the motocross track, which features several triples, table tops and step ups, the track also included challenging deep sand whoops in the off road sections.
“I got some clean track, made up time a lap at a time and then I took the lead for good,” said Baron. “This is probably the most brutal track we race and is easily as difficult as Havasu, but the CST Tires are so soft and it was amazing how long they last. They look brand new right now after the race. These are great tires. The Tire Blocks were great. We had no flats today.”
Baron will be back in action in Pro ATV January 27-29 in Primm, NV where he looks to continue his defense of his WORCS Championship.
At the sixth round of the 2016 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, Adam McGill made it three victories in a row. As a result of rainy weather prior to the race, muddy track conditions provided a rough and rugged atmosphere at the Limestone 100 in Springville, IN.
In a race that saw multiple lead changes between Walker Fowler and Chris Borich, McGill worked his way up from a tough ninth place start. During the second lap, he fought his way into the mix for the lead. When the top three riders went through the pits for the final time, McGill battled it out with Fowler and Borich. Racing towards the flag, things got intense when Borich took a turn too fast and clipped the berm. McGill capitalized on the mistake by taking the inside line and getting the lead for the first time during the last turn pass.
“I didn’t actually lead the race until the last lap,” said McGill. “I just had to ride a smart race and my bike setup was just perfect from the tires to the motor. Once Chris’ back end picked up I saw the inside line and just drove it through for the win.”
The win puts McGill within seven points of the lead in the overall national championship standings. CST congratulates McGill on his impressive third straight victory and looks forward to cheering him on at GNCC Round 7 on May 28th in Millfield, OH.

McGill started the race in a strong position, taking the holeshot, and increasing his lead to nine seconds by the end of the first lap. Although the race would later tighten, and another rider briefly took the lead at one point, the CST-sponsored McGill crossed the finish line more than eight seconds ahead of the next rider. McGill’s performance pushed him into second place in overall GNCC XC1 Pro standings with 119 points, just 12 away from the top.
The race featured another highlight for CST with the debut of the company’s support truck. In addition to providing on-the-spot customer service from the new rig, CST offered giveaways to fans who dropped by, including hats, shirts and koozies.
CST congratulates Adam McGill on his thrilling second straight victory, and looks forward to cheering him on again at GNCC Round 6, scheduled for May 14-15 in Springville, Indiana.
Again proving its strength in the racing world, CST sponsored winners in two major ATV races this weekend. Adam McGill took his first overall win of the year at GNCC Round 4, the Big Buck, held April 16 in Morgantown, West Virginia. The following day in Hurricane, Utah, Beau Baron remained undefeated for the season, with a fifth straight victory at Round 6 of WORCS. Both riders trusted CST’s Pulse tires to take them to the podium.
At WORCS’ Round 6, Baron moved ahead swiftly after starting in sixth-place, taking the lead in the third lap and holding it through the finish line. His latest victory brought his current points total to 100, 18 ahead of the next rider.
McGill got off to a rocky start at the Big Buck, but made steady progress from there. In contention for most of the race, he battled a competing rider for the lead until the last moment, finishing one second ahead of the competition. McGill sits in third place in the series’ point standings, with 89 to date.
CST congratulates Beau Baron and Adam McGill on their victories, and looks forward to cheering them on to victory once again in the coming weeks.

Wins WORCS ATV Pro Race, Suffers Bad Luck in Side by Side
Primm, NV (2/2/2016) – CST’s Beau Baron won the Pro ATV race at Round 2 of the WORCS Championship at Buffalo Bill’s Casino and Resort. Unfortunately, bad luck struck in side by side competition as driveline problems sidelined Baron in both the Pro and Pro Unlimited races.
In the ATV Pro race, Baron inherited the lead for good when former teammate David Haagsma broke on the final lap. The victory was anything but easy. Baron drove from the back of the pack at the start and picked his way through the field to end up second as the white flag waved.
“I ended up fifth off the start,” said Baron. “Dead engine starts get me sometimes. I battled with Collins for a while, then it was Sloan and Robbie. I wasn’t going to get near David, but sometimes things happen. This is what we work hard for and this is what we want.”
In true show of sportsmanship, Baron actually offered to tow Haagsma in on the final lap.
“I pulled over and offered to tow him in,” explained Baron. “He said ‘No. Go ahead.’ “I like to go out there and win heads up. It’s a shame that happened. I’m bummed. This is a good thing for my points, but I don’t like to win this way.”
Baron apparently inherited some of Haagsma’s bad luck in the side by side races. He experienced several driveline failures and didn’t finish the Pro Unlimited race. In the Pro race, he actually drove around in reverse after the forward gears on his machine stopped working and finished 15th, securing important points.
“I spun some axles and snapped some axles and I really don’t know why,” said Baron. “We’re going to have to back to the drawing board with Holz and try to figure this thing out. The side by side program is a big deal. I definitely had the speed. I started in fifth in Unlimited and made it to second before I broke. I drove backwards in the Pro class to avoid the DNF because points are really important. My car wouldn’t go forward any more. It went into reverse so I just drove it backward.”
Baron’s CST teammate Mitch Anderson finished 11th in the Pro 2 Motorcycle race after a rear brake failure put him in the pits while he was running third.
“I lost my rear brake, came in and took off dead last,” said Anderson. “So I just had to work forward and salvage whatever I could. The CST Tires were excellent. I haven’t been able to try all of their tires, but the sand tires were excellent. The traction worked in all conditions.”
Baron and Anderson will look for excellence as WORCS heads to Las Vegas February 26-28 for Round 2 of the championship.

With stand-out opening performances from two of its sponsored riders, CST’s profile in the racing world continues to rise. Beau Baron and teammate Mitch Anderson each took a podium and a win at the AMA Big 6 West Coast GP kick-off. The weekend of racing was held January 16-17 in Adelanto, California.
The two riders made their first trip to the podium Saturday, when Anderson took second place in Pro Lites and Baron joined him in third place. Racing his quad in the Expert class the following day, Baron grabbed a commanding lead and held it through the end of the race. Anderson completed the winning day for the team by taking first place in the lightweight class on his dirt bike.
Baron’s victory was his second of the new season. Just a week earlier, he won the opening round of WORCS’ Pro class.
CST congratulates Beau Baron and Mitch Anderson on their victories and wishes them the best in their upcoming races.
Showing the grit and skill that have earned so many championships, Beau Baron began his first season as a CST-sponsored rider with a victory, topping WORCS’ Round 1 Pro podium. The race was held January 8 in Taft, California.
Baron gained the lead as another rider pitted for fuel and held it through the finish line, posting a total time of 1:30:53.954. “Knowing I can actually do it is just phenomenal,” Baron told worcsracing.com. “I was in second behind David; then we started going through these silt beds, and I was getting arm pumped. So I calmed down, put my head down and started picking up the pace. I had a little quicker pit, came out first and tried to pull the best gap I could.”
With six WORCS championships to his credit, Baron is no stranger to the winning spot on the podium. He has risen to premier status as a west coast racer since running his first pro ATV race in 2007. This season, his busy agenda includes both WORCS and the Big 6 series.
CST is honored to sponsor this outstanding rider and congratulates him on the first of what are sure to be many victories this season.
As they continue their path to the Rio Olympics, the Superior Brentjens MTB Racing Team will have CST Tires as their title sponsor in 2016.
The pairing is a natural one, given the long relationship between CST and the Netherlands-based team. CST has been the Official Tire of Superior Brentjens MTB since the team’s founding in 2009, and CST Holland Directors Jack and Bob Duis have been enthusiastic supporters as team members have won multiple national and world titles.
Bart Brentjens, 1996 Olympic XCO champion and the team’s manager, praised CST products and the team’s partnership with the company: “A tire is a special and very important part for a bike, and the choice of tires can definitely influence results for our riders. The right choice of tires can make the difference between winning and losing. We are very happy to welcome CST Tires as our main and name sponsor in the Rio Olympic year 2016. Together, we are going to further improve quality and increase publicity for CST’s mountain bike tires. An Olympic year is always different compared to the other three years in the cycle. We hope our team will surprise the rest of the world in this coming Olympic year, like they did this year with great results. We’re happy that CST Tires will support us to reach our goals!”
Jack Duis was equally enthusiastic in praising Brentjens and his team. “Bart Brentjens is a mountain bike legend and has been building a great mountain bike team since 2009. We have been supplying tires to Bart’s team and have built up a very good relationship with Bart. His knowhow is invaluable to CST because we develop tires for winners, and Bart is a winner. CST will use his feedback and the feedback of the team’s riders to develop the best tires on the market. We are thrilled to be the new main sponsor of the team.”
CST is proud to sponsor the CST Superior Brentjens MTB Racing Team, and looks forward to cheering them on to victory in 2016.

In true McGill Mafia fashion, Adam McGill has powered his way into the GNCC ATV points lead with wins in two of the season’s first three races. McGill won both the second and third rounds, and took second place in Round 1. The series’ latest round was held March 28 in Morganton, North Carolina.
McGill’s red-hot streak began right out of the gate when he grabbed the holeshot at Round 1 and went on to claim his spot on the podium. At Round 2 a week later, McGill bested a muddy course as well as his fellow riders to take the center podium spot. He finished the race with a lead of almost 30 seconds over the next rider. “It feels so good to get this win,” McGill told gnccracing.com. “After everything I went through last weekend [narrowly missing the center of the podium at Round 1] I can’t explain how good it feels. The Mafia was out in full force, and I’m so happy to carry that points lead into the next round.”
A pass in the final lap was the key to victory at Round 3. The race extended his points lead; with a total of 85, he is 20 points ahead of the next rider.
As they were in the first two races, McGill’s CST Pulse sport ATV tires were up to the challenge. The Pulse is engineered to hook up in a variety of terrains, and with a 6-ply rating, is resistant to the punctures typically found in the woods.
CST Tires congratulates Adam McGill on his recent wins and wishes him the best of luck throughout the 2015 season!
CST has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Italian cycling team Bardiani CSF Pro Team, known as one of the most talented teams at the Pro Continental level.
Bardiani began the UCI season with The Tour of Dubai, which concludes February 7, and at press time had been performing well. Riders Paolo Simion and Nicola Ruffoni both made the top ten in the first two stages, and Enrico Battaglin led the front group for the early portion of Stage 2.
Sam Chen, chairman of Cheng Shin Tire Xiamen Group, is excited to see these pros and their teammates on CST tires. “We are very happy to be associated with this great team. And the input of the professional riders of the Bardiani CSF Pro Team will be a huge help to our R&D department, so that our high-quality products can be continuously refined,” he said.
CST is proud to sponsor the Bardiani CSF Pro Team and looks forward to cheering them on to victory throughout the season. For more information, please contact Fabian Duineveld of CST Europe at [email protected].
In its first corporate sponsorship in the U.S., CST has signed a deal with the San Antonio Spurs basketball team, winners of last season’s NBA championship.
In effect for the remainder of the current season, the deal takes CST’s exposure in the U.S. to a new level. Among the benefits for the company are three minutes of TV-visible courtside signage and two minutes of hoop signage per game.
The Spurs are off to a great start this season at 19-13 to date, and CST Marketing Manager Matt Clark is pleased that the company is linked with a top-tier team. “We’re thrilled to announce this sponsorship,” said Clark. “Basketball, and the Spurs, are popular throughout the world. Making global consumers more aware of our brand through support of this great team is a win-win for us.”
CST is proud to sponsor the San Antonio Spurs, and looks forward to cheering them on to victory throughout this season.
Continuing its practice of supporting worthy causes, CST recently sponsored the Dempsey Challenge. Held September 27-28 in Lewiston, Maine, the run, walk and cycle fundraiser benefited the Dempsey Center, which provides support, education and integrative medicine services to anyone affected by cancer.
The company also showed its support for the Challenge by hosting a booth for riders and spectators, with giveaways including t-shirts and tote bags. Several of the company’s bicycle tires were on display as well. “The event was a tremendous success, with tons of people from around the northeast and even as far away as Georgia showing up both Saturday and Sunday to run or ride their bike, support the participants, and volunteer,” said CST Sales Representative Daniel Quillian.
CST is proud to have sponsored the Dempsey Challenge, and congratulates everyone involved in this successful event.
Taking its place among sponsors of major racing action, CST is gearing up for its first-ever sponsorship program in 2015. The company is now accepting applications from riders, drivers, teams and event coordinators at both the grassroots and professional level. Applications may be submitted from September 1 through October 31.
Application forms, which should be submitted online, can be found here: https://www.csttires.com/us/getsponsored/. Mailed applications will not be accepted. Applicants may attach event proposals, racing resumes and photos to their application if so desired, and will be notified of their application’s status by November 11. Potential sponsored riders, drivers, teams and event coordinators will have until December 1 to accept CST’s sponsorship.
CST is proud to offer its first sponsorship program, and looks forward to supporting exciting racing action throughout the coming year. Apply now, and good luck!
Adam McGill scored a milestone win for CST at Round 9 of the GNCC, achieving the company’s first-ever overall victory on his CST Pulse tires. The race was held June 21 in Snowshoe, West Virginia.
McGill was trading the lead with another rider by the third lap of the race, which was run grand prix-style with 10-second gaps between starts and an adjusted time clock. McGill held a decisive lead by the time he crossed the finish line. “It’s such an amazing feeling to do this in front of the fans here in West Virginia. Snowshoe has always been good to me,” he told gnccracing.com.
CST congratulates Adam McGill on this landmark victory.
Adam McGill took his fifth podium of the year at Round 8 of the GNCC, held June 7 in Millfield, Ohio.
McGill started the race on a high note by grabbing the holeshot. He traded the lead with another rider and regained it until a second-lap pit stop, and was close behind the lead rider for much of the rest of the race. McGill, who took second place at Round 8, is third in XC1 Pro points for the series.
CST congratulates Adam McGill on another outstanding performance on CST tires.

Extending its sponsorship of Ajax’ successful 2013-14 season, CST has signed a deal to sponsor the team’s Indonesia Tour.
The company will be the Official Sponsor of the Tour, which begins May 11 at Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta, against Persija Jakarta. A second match, against Persib Bandung, is scheduled for May 14 at Si Jalak Harupat stadium in Bandung. Live broadcasts of the matches are expected to reach an audience of approximately 30 million, providing excellent exposure for the CST brand. The brand will also be highly visible during several planned Tour-related events.
Ajax Marketing Director Edwin van der Sar sees multiple benefits to the trip. “The Indonesia Tour will be a very good experience for our young group of players. We will also support some social and commercial initiatives together with Aegon, Adidas and CST. The trip will also be very special to present Ajax to millions of fans, many of whom have never seen an Ajax game live,” said van der Sar.
Mr. Marx Lee, CST International sales department manager, is equally pleased that the company will join Ajax for the Tour: “Indonesia is a very important market for CST, and we are glad that alongside the exposure for our brand in Europe, CST will now also benefit in Indonesia.”

CST has stepped up its involvement as a sponsor of the annual Tour of Turkey, a cycling event of such prominence that even the country’s president plays a role. The eight-stage Tour of Turkey is scheduled for April 27 – May 4.

From the first stage in Alanya to the final race in Istanbul, when President Gül will again be present, CST will be a prominent sponsor.
All riders’ jerseys will feature the CST logo, just below racers’ individual numbers. The CST logo will also be featured on billboards at each stage of the Tour.

Riders on CST tires continue to make their mark on this season’s GNCC races. Winner William Yokley and teammate Scott Kiger took two UTV XC1 podium spots at Round 4, while Adam McGill took fourth place in ATV XC1 Pro. The event was held April 12 in Union, South Carolina.
Yokley’ said that his CST Behemoths aided in his victory. “The tires worked so well. The Behemoth is so predictable and provides a very plush ride. I love them, because they do exactly what I think they are going to do,” he said. After two UTV races, Yokley’s Polaris National Guard machine leads the UTV XC1 Modified class standings with 41 points, with Kiger’s Coastal National Guard machine just four points behind in third place.
McGill, who jockeyed with another rider in the front four throughout the main race, was just as pleased with the performance of his CST tires: “The tires never missed a beat all race; no holes and no worries, with a good pulse.”
CST congratulates William Yokley on his victory and thanks Scott Kiger, Adam McGill and all of its riders for their fine performances.
In a move which expands its sponsorship program, CST has signed the first sponsored ATV rider in the company’s history, Adam McGill.
“Signing a rider of Adam’s ability is huge for CST as we continue to push forward and improve our brand. It has been a pleasure working with Adam, and we expect Adam to contend for a championship this year in the GNCC. We are proud to be a part of the McGill Mafia, and help Adam reach his goal of becoming a champion in this great sport,” said CST Marketing Specialist Nate Hamilton.
McGill lined up against the world’s best at the GNCC season kick-off on Saturday, and put in one heck of an effort. Despite mechanical problems which prevented him from finishing the race where he would have liked, he was pumped on the performance of his CST Pulse tires. “The tires were really good all day. I never had an issue getting stuck. They had awesome forward traction and were solid in the open field sections. My heart was racing as the flag dropped, and the Pulse never quit ‘til I did! Amazing tires!” said McGill.
CST is proud to be the tire sponsor of the #521 machine of Adam McGill and the McGill Mafia, and wishes him the best in 2014.

CST’s first-ever sponsored ATV rider, McGill began Round 2 by grabbing the holeshot. He stayed in second place for much of the race, trading it only briefly with another rider. “The tires were great this weekend! I took the holeshot and then ran into some lapped traffic late in the race, but the tires hooked up great all day. They were almost too good,” McGill said of his CST Pulse tires. McGill is now fifth in the race for the XC1 Pro championship with 30 points.
CST congratulates Adam McGill on an outstanding performance and wishes him the best at GNCC Round 3, scheduled for March 29-30 in Morganton, North Carolina.
