Brycen Neal brought skill, experience and grit to the GNCC this season, assets that paid off this past weekend in the form of a third straight XC1 Pro championship. The Phoenix Racing Yamaha athlete clinched his title at the season’s final race, the Ironman, held October 26 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Steady work and strategic moves on his CST Pulse HT tires put Neal into the lead by the third lap, and he held the front spot for the rest of the race. Later, he revealed the serious mechanical issue that he’d powered through to take the victory and the championship: “What a day! We got hit in the rear in the first turn and it bent my rotor causing me to have no rear brakes all day. We was way in the back, but kept pushing forward all day long making the pass for the lead before the white flag and was able to bring it home to grab the win and wrap up the title!!”
Saturday’s win was the seventh of the season for Neal, who took four podium spots in addition to his first-place showings. Neal won the championship by a margin of 33 points after racking up a season total of 332.
In other good news for CST, CST Tires/LMR Motors/Elka/Fly Racing’s Braxton Grosse took the XC2 Pro-Am holeshot and third place in the class for both the day and the season. Grosse earned three XC2 victories and four additional class podium spots this year.
CST congratulates Brycen Neal on his third consecutive championship and thanks Braxton Grosse for his excellent performances this season!
