McGill Obtains Third GNCC Victory in a Row

At the sixth round of the 2016 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, Adam McGill made it three victories in a row. As a result of rainy weather prior to the race, muddy track conditions provided a rough and rugged atmosphere at the Limestone 100 in Springville, IN.

In a race that saw multiple lead changes between Walker Fowler and Chris Borich, McGill worked his way up from a tough ninth place start. During the second lap, he fought his way into the mix for the lead. When the top three riders went through the pits for the final time, McGill battled it out with Fowler and Borich. Racing towards the flag, things got intense when Borich took a turn too fast and clipped the berm. McGill capitalized on the mistake by taking the inside line and getting the lead for the first time during the last turn pass.

“I didn’t actually lead the race until the last lap,” said McGill. “I just had to ride a smart race and my bike setup was just perfect from the tires to the motor. Once Chris’ back end picked up I saw the inside line and just drove it through for the win.”

The win puts McGill within seven points of the lead in the overall national championship standings. CST congratulates McGill on his impressive third straight victory and looks forward to cheering him on at GNCC Round 7 on May 28th in Millfield, OH.
