DESCRIPTION:The John Penton is one of the longest-running GNCCs around\, and is held at Sunday Creek Raceway\, a popular motocross track in Southern Ohio. The event is named after one of the pioneers of off-road motorcycle racing in America\, as John Penton is the man who originally imported the KTM motorcycle from Austria into the United States. In fact\, they even called them ‘Pentons’ back then\, since John created so many improvements for the machines. \nYou must plan for the weather at this event. It’s an awesome place to race\, but is often either bone-dry and dusty or covered in sticky Ohio mud. And sometimes it’s both! That slick Ohio clay will provide little traction if it’s wet\, and it will stick all over your gear and your machine. You’ve got to be tough to survive this one if it rains. \nThe track is great\, with a nice mix of fast\, flowing trails with some fresh\, tight stuff thrown in as well. There’s nothing too difficult here as far as hills or mud bogs\, even when it’s muddy\, but it can get rough as the race wears on\, so be prepared to pace yourself when needed. \nThe Sunday Creek motocross track is a fun one too\, with a few simple jumps\, one nice step-up and plenty of wide-open corners for flat tracking (and passing).\nIf it does rain\, make sure you have extra goggles and gloves ready because they will get thrashed.

DESCRIPTION:In the early 1970s\, enterprising motocross race promoter Dave Coombs Sr. went on the search for the perfect motocross track. He had tried a couple of tracks in West Virginia that weren’t big enough\, and then one in Keyser’s Ridge\, Maryland\, but that track’s rocky soil didn’t find favor with the riders. In the fall of 1976\, he moved his races to Mount Morris\, Pennsylvania\, just across the state line above Morgantown\, West Virginia\, using the rich soil of a farm owned by the Holbert family\, who were racers themselves. \nHigh Point Raceway opened in September ’76\, but the original layout would soon change. Shortly after opening\, the Maico factory team stopped by looking for a place to practice while following the Trans-AMA Series\, and they decided to revamp the track layout to make it more European\, incorporating more hills and off-camber turns. Sylvain Geboers\, Adolf Weil\, and Hans Maisch laid down fallen tree branches and built small rock piles to outline where they should go. In doing so\, they created the basic design that High Point uses to this day. \nThe High Point circuit uses the land’s natural elevation to create uphill double- and triple jumps and long sweeping corners in a natural amphitheater setting. To go fast on this highly regarded track today\, riders have to dial in skills that were perfected three decades ago.

DESCRIPTION:South Carolina’s Camp Coker Bullet GNCC and the amazing piece of property it sits on became an immediate favorite after it’s addition to the series in 2016. While Camp Coker may still be new to the world of GNCC Racing\, it’s definitely no stranger to the racing world. The Camp Coker Motocross facility was located on this property and hosted races for many years ranging from AMA District 29 motocross events to Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Motocross qualifiers and more. This event is held at Moree’s Sportsman’s Preserve\, which means the property is full of fun outdoor activities when you’re not on the track. Several fishing ponds\, plus a big pond for swimming with a rope swing\, which makes this event a true destination for fun. \nThe soil here is a bit on the sandy side\, but with more black\, loamy dirt mixed in as well. The inaugural event saw a good mix of some fast double track trails\, tighter single track trails\, big field sections\, and of course the use of the old Camp Coker Motocross track as well. All together\, this event became an immediate favorite\, as the course is just plain fun. The varying terrain\, flowing trails\, fun off-track activities\, and beautiful setting make the Camp Coker Bullet a must-race event!

SUMMARY:GNCC - FMF Steele Creek
DESCRIPTION:This may be the nicest-looking GNCC of all. The picturesque Steele Creek Campground hosts this one\, and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background make this a nice place to be even if we weren’t racing. Campers will appreciate the hookups and the small country store located on the premises. \nThis is a classic cross-country track too\, with plenty of creek crossings\, mud bogs and rocks. The track is flowy and fun\, but rugged. And the hills\, going both up and down\, are long and steep. As the race goes on\, a lot of tree roots become exposed. This makes for a rough ride when it’s dry and a slick track when it rains. The course also gets faster and faster as more lines open up throughout the weekend. \nThe soil here can range from brown top soil\, to red clay\, to sand and back\, all in a span of 5 minutes. The sections along the creek can get sandy and rough\, while the base of the mountains see loamy brown dirt. However\, as you make your way up the hills\, it begins to turn into red clay. \nThe coolest part of the track is the creek crossing near the pits. The track weaves around next to the actual Steele Creek before eventually plunging into it. Then the riders have to duck their heads to get under a concrete bridge before a ton of fans. The weather at Steele Creek can be just as unpredictable as the racing. Being early in the year\, it can get cold\, so be prepared to dress warm. However\, it can also offer up a teaser to the spring days that are just around the corner\, so be prepared for all types of weather. \nSteele Creek is an actual campground. Hook-ups are available\, but separate fees apply for camping. For more information check out Steele Creek Campground’s web page.

SUMMARY:GNCC - Maxxis Cannonball
DESCRIPTION:2016 would see the first annual Cannonball GNCC at the Hill Family Farm in Sparta\, Georgia and the stop would become an immediate favorite. While the venue was new to the world of GNCC Racing\, it was no stranger to the off-road racing world\, as the Southern Off-Road Championship Series has visited the property for a number of years.  \nThis course is pretty unique. The soil ranges from red clay to loamy brown dirt\, a little bit of sand in places as well\, and there are also a few areas with some rocks mixed in. This course also offers up a variety of slower\, tighter trails\, fast flowing trails\, fast field sections\, and everything in between. Overall\, this is a course that everyone will want to experience!  \nHowever\, don’t let the beauty of the Hill Family Farm and the fun factor of the trails trick you\, as this can still be a tough event. The fast sections tend to get rough as the red clay base can get hard and develop braking bumps into corners and acceleration bumps out of corners. As the race wears on\, roots become exposed and can get pretty slick. There’s also a few low lying spots where mud holes will develop\, and some small streams with large rocks in them that can be pretty slick. Regardless\, even with these challenges Cannonball stands out as an excellent event and one of the most fun courses of the season.

SUMMARY:GNCC - Moose Racing Wild Boar
DESCRIPTION:In 2015\, GNCC Racing returned to Palatka\, Florida for the first time since 2004\, and the Wild Boar GNCC would quickly become one of the most popular Florida rounds that the series has ever hosted. This event is held at the Rodman Plantation\, a 6\,000 acre working cattle and timber plantation. On top of that\, the facility is ideally suited for weddings\, private parties\, corporate meetings\, retreats\, wildlife watching\, world class fishing and pure North Florida hunting adventures\, including the prized Osceola Turkey. However\, don’t let the beauty of the Rodman Plantation fool you.  \nThe Wild Boar course is just about what you would expect from a GNCC event in Florida. This course sees sandy soil typical of Florida but mixed with black dirt\, and of course\, a few tough mud holes to contend with. As with most sand tracks\, the course gets rough as the race wears on\, so make sure to stay in shape over the winter\, as it’s a tough early round. The trails here have a good flow to them and range from slow tight sections\, to wide-open fast sections and more. \nWhile there’s not many of the dreaded palmetto roots at the Wild Boar\, they still exist in some places here\, and the sections of planted pine trees will also add another tough\, but fun and unique challenge to the course. All in all\, Wild Boar offers up a variety of fun\, yet challenging terrain.

By visiting the vendor exhibits\, dealers will learn about recently launched products as well as the latest gear and apparel. \nAttendees will also have the chance to participate in industry roundtable discussions with Tucker Rocky leadership as well as to network with some of the most successful dealers and retailers in powersports. \nOn the evening of Feb. 10\, the two-day event will culminate in a celebration of Tucker Rocky’s first 50 years of serving the powersports industry. \nTucker Rocky | Biker’s Choice will provide dealers who are interested in extending their stay to attend the AMA Supercross at AT&T stadium on Saturday\, Feb. 11\, with two complimentary tickets. Dealers also have the chance to be reimbursed for their airfare to the event through the distributor’s Earn Your Wings program.
