CST is proud to announce three new additions

The engineers at CST have been busy!  CST is proud to announce three new additions:  the Fire Fox; the Ouster; and the Operative.  These new treads are the result of months of research, design, and testing.

Fire Fox

The Fire Fox is the first UST-certified tire from CST.  With it, we set out to create a tire with low rolling resistance, perfect for fast cross country riding.  To achieve this, our engineers developed a tread pattern featuring small ramped knobs closely spaced together.  The design allows the tire to roll quickly while also maintaining traction during cornering.

To increase durability, the Fire Fox uses CST’s EPS puncture protection between the casing and the tread.  This proprietary material, available on the UST and folding bead versions, helps to prevent flats brought on by trail debris.

In addition to the UST Fire Fox, a tube-type Fire Fox is also available.  This allows riders using standard clincher rims to get the same great tread pattern in a non-tubeless casing. 

The dual compound rubber on the folding bead versions features a harder center to further reduce rolling resistance and softer shoulders to maximize cornering grip.

The tubeless Fire Fox is available in a 26x2.00 size while the tube-type Fire Fox comes in a 26x2.10 size with either a folding or wire bead.

Ouster

The Ouster joins the BFT and the Heathen in CST’s aggressive trail offerings.  The Ouster is in its element when the trail gets technical.  The tread pattern features tall center knobs which quickly shed mud while the closely spaced side knobs give you a knife-like edge for railing the corners.
As with the Fire Fox, the Ouster is available in both wire and folding bead versions.  The folding bead versions feature both our EPS puncture protection and dual compound rubber.

The Ouster comes in several sizes:  26x2.25 and 26x2.40 (wire or folding bead available); and 29x2.25 (wire or folding bead available).

Operative

With the Operative, speed and versatility are key.  The smooth center tread makes for a great BMX race tire that can also pull duty on the street or at the park. 

Moving from the center to the shoulders you will find continuous rows of micro knobs that give just the right amount of cornering grip without scrubbing your speed.  For added protection while grinding ledges, the Operative’s tread wraps around to the bead, protecting the sidewall.
The Operative is available in two sizes:  20x1.75 and 20x2.25, both with a wire bead.
